ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U3027 Ghyllside Way, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ghyllside Way – from the junction with U3027 Grange Avenue to the junction with U3029 Parkstone Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3027 Grange Avenue – U3029 Parkstone Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 20 and 21 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Deals – from the junction with U6438 The Strand to the junction with A259(T) Strand Quay.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6438 The Strand – A259(T) Strand Quay and vice versa. The Order commenced 7 June 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 11 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3178 Cornwallis Terrace, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cornwallis Terrace – from the junction with U3180 Cornwallis Gardens to the junction with U3178 Braybrooke Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3180 Cornwallis Gardens – U3165 Linton Road – U3169 Priory Avenue – U3178 Braybrooke Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 and 5 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6299 Rookery Lane, Winchelsea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2 To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rookery Lane – from the junction with C298 High Street to the junction with U6299 Back Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C298 High Street – U6299 St Thomas Street, Back Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 3 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 14 November 2025, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C213 Willards Hill, Robertsbridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Willards Hill – from the junction with C18 Brightling Road to the junction with C213 Ludpit Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Brightling Road, Rectory Hill, The Street, Long Reach – C603 Sheepshaw Lane – C212 Perrymans Lane, Kings Hill Road, School Hill – A265 High Street, Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street – C213 Oxenbridge Lane, Ludpit Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 3 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 5 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C92 Fairlight Road, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Fairlight Road – from the junction with U3238 Martineau Lane to the junction with C92 Battery Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C92 Fairlight Road – A259 Old London Road, Rye Road – A259(T) Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road, Rye Road, The Thorne, Main Road, Hastings Road, Rectory Lane, Roberts Hill, Ferry Hill, Tanyard Lane – C92 Sea Road, Pett Level Road, Battery Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 and 5 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3190 Russell Street, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Russell Street – from the junction with A2101 Albert Road to no. 4.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3189 Castle Hill Passage – U3186 Castle Hill Road – A2101 Albert Road.

To maintain access for residents only, a suspension of one-way traffic will be in place (revert to two-way traffic) and a reversal of one-way traffic on Castle Hill Passage (traffic to travel eastbound), during these works.

The Order commences 3 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 11 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A265 High Street, Etchingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

High Street – from the junction with U6196 Burgh Hill to the junction with U6197 Borders Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A265 Straight Mile, Etchingham Road, High Street, Paygate, Heathfield Road, Burwash Road, Mutton Hall Hill, High Street, Cross in Hand Road – A267 Little London Road, High Street, Horam Road, Eastbourne Road, North Street, New North Street – A271 Lower Horsebridge, Upper Horsebridge, Hawkswood Road, Amberstone, New Road, Hailsham Road, Gardener Street, Windmill Hill Road, The Strait, Boreham Hill, Kitchenham Road, Beechdown Wood, North Trade Road – A2100 London Road – A21(T) – A265 Station Road, Haremere Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 31 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 October and 3 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Bohemia Road – from the junction with A21 London Road to the junction with A2102 London Road.

Diversion via A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place, White Rock, Carlisle Parade – A21 Harold Place, Havelock Road, Cornwallis Terrace, Priory Street, Cambridge Road, Bohemia Road. London Road – from the junction with U3041 St Matthews Road to the junction with A2102 London Road.

Diversion via A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place, White Rock, Carlisle Parade, Denmark Place – A2101 Albert Road, Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout, St Helens Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road.

These roads will not be closed at the same time.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 5 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 02:00hrs between 5 and 7 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

CYCLE TRACKS ACT 1984

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL (PUBLIC FOOTPATH HASTINGS 130 (PART)) CYCLE TRACK ORDER 2025 Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council has confirmed the above Cycle Track Order as an unopposed Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Section 3(1) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order which came into force on 24 October 2025 is: 1) The footpath described in the schedule to this order is designated a cycle track over which the public have a right of way on pedal cycles (other than pedal cycles which are motor vehicles) and a right of way on foot.

Schedule

The section of public footpath Hastings 130 designated a cycle track begins at Whitworth Road TQ 7963 1307 (Point A) and runs in an east-southeasterly direction for 98.35 metres to TQ 7973 1306 at A21 (Sedlescombe Road North) (Point B).

As the Highway Authority, the Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed order will encourage the convenient and safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists.
