U2262, Wigton - Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2262 WIGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2262 Wigton, from its junction with the B5304, High Street extending in an overall easterly direction for approx. 70m to its junction with Church Street.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the U2262, Water Street, B5302 King Street, and B5304 High Street.

The Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days between 0800 and 1800 hours each day, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
