Isle of Wight - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Wednesday 5 November 2025 until 1800 hours on Monday 10 November 2025, or when the works have been completed, High Street will be closed to vehicular traffic. The one-way restriction will be revoked and High Street, for its entire length, will become two-way. On-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works and to allow accsee to premises.

The Isle of Wight Council (Quarry Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0900 and 1700 hours on Thursday 6 November 2025, or when the works have been completed, Quarry Road will be closed for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Moons Hill, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours on Tuesday 4 November 2025 until 0600 hours on Wednesday 5 November 2025, or when the works have been completed, Moon Hill will be closed for its entire length, on-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Zig Zag Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 4 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Tuesday 4 November 2025 until 0600 hours on Wednesday 5 November 2025, or when the works have been completed, Zig Zag Road will be closed for its entire length, on-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Parkhurst Slip Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours to midnight on Friday 7 November 2025, or when the works have been completed, Parkhurst Slip Road will be closed for its entire length, on-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Whiterails Lane, Lake, Isle of Wight, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of 6-foot Width Restriction) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that at all times, for 5 days, between Friday 31 October 2025 and Friday 12 December 2025, or when the works have been completed, the 6-foot 6-inch width restriction will be revoked on Whitecross Lane, for its entire length, on-street signage will depict the exact length. The revocation is required for carriageway maintenance, surfacing, hedging & quartering, lining and cats’ eyes work in the area.

The Isle of Wight Council (Landguard Road and Sandown Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Waiting At Any Time Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that at all times, for 5 days, between Friday 31 October 2025 and Friday 12 December 2025, or when the works have been completed, “No Waiting at Any Time” parking restriction will be introduced along Landguard Manor Road, for its entire length, on-street signage will depict the exact length. The restriction is required during carriageway maintenance, surfacing, hedging & quartering, lining and cats’ eyes work.

The Isle of Wight Council (Park Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 03 November 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 23 January 2026, or when the works have been completed, Park Road, will be closed for its entire length. These are phased works and on-street signage will depict the exact length of each section closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847:

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1545 hours until 2100 hours on Wednesday 5 November 2025, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-exempt vehicle to proceed along (a) High Street for its entire length; (b) Market Square for its entire length; (c) St James Square for its entire length. These closures are required for safety during the Yarmouth Fireworks Night. The diversion route will be signposted locally.
