Glasgow Road - Temporary Prohibition of driving order
What is happening?
SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(GLASGOW ROAD AREA, JARROW – SAFER ROUTES TO SCHOOL) ORDER 2025
South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to:-
REVOKE No Waiting and no Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30 am & 3pm-4pm on:- Ayr Drive both sides from its junction with Glasgow Rd in a westerly direction for 10m and south side from a point 57m west of its junction with Glasgow Rd for 24m in a westerly direction; Glasgow Rd west side from a point 173m north of its junction with Perth Ave in a northerly direction for 17.5m and Crieff Grove both sides from its junction with Arran Drive in a westerly direction for 7m. AMEND School Entrance Markings on Ayr Drive, St Marys RC JMI School north side from a point 28m west from Arran Drive for 37.56m in a westerly direction and from a point 3m west of the junction of Arran Drive for 31.56m in an easterly direction. INTRODUCE No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on :- Aberdeen Drive both sides from its junction with Perth Ave for 10m in a northerly direction and from a point 12m north of its junction with Luss Ave for 7.5m in a northerly direction and west side from a point 10m south if its junction with Balmoral Ave for 22m in a northerly direction. Arran Drive both sides from its junction with Ayr Drive for 10m in a southerly direction and from its junction with Perth Ave for 10m in a northerly direction and west side from its junction with Crieff Grove for 5m in a northerly and southerly direction. Ayr Drive both sides from its junction with Glasgow Rd in a westerly direction for 10m and south side from its junction with Arran Drive for 11m in an easterly and westerly direction. Balmoral Ave both sides from its junction with Aberdeen Drive for 10m in a westerly direction and from its junction with Glasgow Rd for 10m in an easterly direction. Crieff Grove both sides from its junction with Arran Drive for 10m in a westerly direction. Glasgow Rd both sides from its junction with Perth Ave for 10m in a northerly direction and east side from its junction with Luss Ave for 13.5m in a northerly direction and for 5m in a southerly direction; from a point 10m south of its junction with Balmoral Ave for 30m in a northerly direction; from a point 41.5m north of the junction with Balmoral Ave for 12.5m in a southerly direction and west side from a point 22m south of its junction with Ayr Drive for 11m in a southerly direction; from its junction with unnamed road located 19m north of the junction with Balmoral Ave for 16.5m in a northerly direction; from its junction with Ayr Drive for 5m in a northerly and southerly direction. Inverness Rd both sides from its junction with Perth Ave for 10m in a southerly direction. Luss Ave both sides from its junction with Glasgow Rd for 10m in an easterly direction. Perth Ave north side from its junction with Glasgow Rd for 16m in an easterly direction and for 5m in a westerly direction; from its junction with Aberdeen Drive for 7.5m in an easterly and westerly direction; from its junction with Arran Drive for 5m in an easterly and westerly direction and south side from its junction with Inverness Rd for 19.5m in a westerly direction and for 10m in an easterly direction. Unnamed road adj to 70 & 72 Edinburgh Rd located 93m north of the junction with Perth Ave both sides from its junction with Edinburgh Rd for 7.5m in a westerly direction. Unnamed road located 19m north of the junction with Balmoral Ave both sides for 10m in a westerly direction.
Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall at the address below.
