PUBLIC NOTICE

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(AMOS LANE ISLAND) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the Island at Long Knowle Lane/Amos Lane/Prestwood Road West/Lower Prestwood Road in all directions.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 13th November 2025 to 21st November 2025, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00.
The diversion route is: Blackhalve Lane, Cannock Road, Bushbury Road, Church Street, Wolverhampton Road, Rookery Street, High Street, Alfred Squire Road, Neachells Lane, Lichfield Road or Blackhalve Lane, Wood End Road, Lichfield Road, Neachells Lane, Alfred Squire Road, High Street, Rookery Street, Wolverhampton Road, Wednesfield Way, Tudor Road, Bushbury Road.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works by CWC Highway Maintenance.
