Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1), As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991
Kent County Council has made an Order the effect of which is to temporarily close Public Footpath EE367 between Circular Road and The Play Area (What 3 Words ‘rare.readjust.rollers’ to ‘stocky.fixed.crunch’ nearest Betteshanger Rd) from the 10 November 2025
The path will be closed for a maximum of six months, although it is expected that it will reopen on or just after 30 November 2025
The path is to be closed because works are planned on or near it.
The alternative route is via Circular Road and the play area access road and will be signed for the duration of the closure.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH HE301 (PART) SELLINDGE)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
On 27 August 2025 The Kent County Council confirmed the above Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of that Order as confirmed is to divert the entire width of that length of public footpath numbered HE301, which commences at its junction with Bulls Lane at NGR TR 1005 3810 (point A) and heads in a south westerly direction for 86 metres to the southwestern corner of the garden of the property known as ‘Woodlands’ at NGR TR 0998 3806 (point B) and to provide a new length of public footpath numbered HE301, with a width of 2.0 metres, which commences at the aforementioned point A and heads in a south-southwest direction for 57 metres to NGR TR 1003 3804 (point C) before heading in a west-northwest direction for 50 metres to the aforementioned point B. As shown between points A-C-B on the Order plan.

The Order came into force on 8 October 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act which has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the 7 November 2025, make an application to the High Court.
