Tonbridge and Malling, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TONBRIDGE & MALLING AREA

A26 Quarry Hill Road (Northbound), Tonbridge, TN4 0UQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & NO RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow survey works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A26 Quarry Hill Road (Northbound), Tonbridge, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in a Northbound direction only, in the vicinity of the bridge over the A21, between 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. There will be no right turn from A21 Southbound Off-slip to A26 Quarry Hill Road Northbound.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Quarry Hill Road, A2014 Pembury Road and vice versa.

 

Hollow Lane, Snodland, ME6 5BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water main works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hollow Lane, Snodland, on or after 14th November 2025 for up to 29 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Edgeler Court and the junction with Tom Joyce Close. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hollow Lane, Birling Road, High Street, Malling Road, Hollow Lane and vice versa.

 

New Wharf Road, River Walk & Bradford Street, Tonbridge, TN9 1EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new electric connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New Wharf Road, Tonbridge, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with River Walk to the junction with B2260 High Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2260 High Street, Bradford Street, River Walk and vice versa.

The one-way orders on River Walk and Bradford Street will be suspended to allow for diversion.

 

Park Road, Leybourne, ME19 5HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Park Road, Leybourne, on or after 26th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 62. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

 

Seven Mile Lane, Borough Green (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow for highway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a 30MPH speed limit in two phases from the A20 (London Road) roundabout, heading southbound for approximately 100 metres, to the junction with Teston Road on Seven Mile Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Phase 1 - From 15th November 2025 with estimated completion by 16th November 2025.

Phase 2 - From 22nd November 2025 with estimated completion by 23rd November 2025.

 

Sweets Lane, East Malling, ME19 6BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow for telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sweets Lane, East Malling, on or after 26th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Easterfields. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Rocks Road, Chapel Street, Wateringbury Road, Sweets Lane and vice versa.

 

Vale Road, Tonbridge, TN9 2BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vale Road, Tonbridge, on or after 25th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, A26 Vale Road, A26 Cannon Lane, A227 Hadlow Road, A227 Bordyke, B2260 High Street, Vale Road and vice versa.
