Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE AREA
A259 Earls Avenue & Earls Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2PN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A259 Earls Avenue & Earls Avenue, Folkestone, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
A259 Earls Avenue will be closed between the junctions of Westbourne Gardens and A2033 Sandgate Road, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Earls Avenue will be closed between the junctions of A2033 Sandgate Road and The Leas, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A2033 Sandgate Road, A2033 Castle Hill Avenue, Castle Hill Avenue, A259 Shorncliffe Road and A259 Earls Avenue.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A259 Sandgate Road, Metropole Road East, The Leas and Earls Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Alma Road, Folkestone, CT20 3LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alma Road, Folkestone, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of B2063 Risborough Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Royal Military Avenue, Church Road, B2063 Risborough Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Ashford Road, New Romney, TN28 8HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow tree works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ashford Road, New Romney, on or after 24th November 2025 for up to 11 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of North Street and A259 High Street, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, West Street, A259 High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bouverie Place, Folkestone, CT20 9EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bouverie Place, Folkestone, on or after 11th November 2025 for up to 21 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Terrace, The Leas, Clifton Gardens, A2033 Castle Hill Avenue and A2033 Bouverie Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tillery Lane, Brookland, TN29 9UX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow culvert maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tillery Lane, Brookland, on or after 10th November 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 15m either side of the culvert carrying Tillery Lane over St Thomas Innings watercourse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barnhouse Lane, Tickners Lane, A259 Rhee Wall, Tillery Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
