Herefordshire, Temporary Speed Restriction Due To Public Safety Concerns

What is happening?

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as the highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: A465 & B4348, Locks Garage, Herefordshire, (Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2025, to temporarily restrict the speed of vehicles to 40mph on the following road(s):

a) The A465, A44, Hereford to Abergavenny Road, from a point 518m north of its eastern junction with the B4348 to a point 457m south of it's eastern junction with the B4348.

b) The B4348, East of its junction with A465, from its junction with the A465 for a distance of 267m east.

c) The B4348, West of its junction with A465, from its junction with the A465 to the start of the existing 40mph limit, a distance of 25m west.

The said restriction is required due the likelihood of danger to the public. The said restriction will come into force on the 14th of November 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months.
