Essex - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Church Lane, North Weald Bassett)

(Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily impose a one-way restriction on the following length of Church Lane North Weald Bassett, in the District of Epping Forest.

The prohibitions are scheduled to commence on 01 November 2025 to 20 December 2026, between the hours of 0800 and 1700 on every Saturday and are required to facilitate the North Weald Market.

The Order will come into operation on 01 November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months to facilitate the North Weald Market.

(Footpath 13, Harlow)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath13 in the District of Harlow, from a point adjacent to number 25 (The Oxleys) north for approximately 45 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 03 November 2025 to 06 February 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bank stabilisation and resurfacing works on footpath 13 are undertaken.

Alternative route: Footpath 13 (north section), Footpath 29, Old Road, Watlington Road, The Oxleys and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 03 November 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Abridge Road, Chigwell)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Abridge Road, Chigwell in the District of Epping Forest, from both of its junctions with Abridge Roundabout for a distance of approximately 280m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGHN158LSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via A113, A128, A414, B181, B1393, A121, A1168 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Etheridge Road, Loughton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Etheridge Road, Loughton in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Westall Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st December 2025 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (MG07271790/ICS/STM/AC – O2 (UK) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by O2 (UK) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Etheridge Road, Colebrook Lane, Westall Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hamlet Hill, Roydon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hamlet Hill, Roydon in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 195m south west of its junction with Barn Hill for a distance of approximately 110m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG0WRN2R – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Hamlet Hill, Sedge Green, Pecks Hill, North Street, Middle Street, Nazeing Common, Common Road, Epping Road, Epping Road Roundabout, Tylers Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 25m south west of its junction with Galleyhill Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th November 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30093822661 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Ninefields, Parklands, Crooked Mile Roundabout, Crooked Mile, Sewardstone Road, Farm Hill Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Debden Lane, Loughton)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Debden Lane, Loughton in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 20m north east of its junction with Ripley View for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (MU11300904358-00000002 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while sewer cover replacement works are undertaken by Thames Water.

An alternative route is available via Debden Lane, Englands Lane, Pyrles Lane, Rectory Lane, A121, B172, The Green, Loughton Lane, Debden Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
