The Bishops Avenue, Barnet - Temporary Road Closure due to Crane Dismantling Works

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

THE BISHOPS AVENUE, N2

The BARNET LONDON BOROUGH COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to the need to facilitate the dismantling of a Tower Crane for the development located at No.56, The Bishops Avenue, N2 they intend to make an order which will close The Bishops Avenue, N2 from outside No.58, The Bishops Avenue to Outside No.54, The Bishops Avenue.

The works will commence on Thursday 4th December 2025 and will last for 5 days.

A ‘no waiting, loading or parking’ restriction will be enforced from 13:00pm on 4th December 2025 and will be in effect until 20:00pm on 8th December 2025. The road closure will be enforced from 06:00am on 5th December 2025 and will be in effect until 20:00pm on 8th December 2025.

A signed diversion will be in place, for cars travelling East on Aylmer Road, N2 the diversion will be Aylmer Road, Winnington Road, Hampstead Lane and vice versa.

For cars travelling West on Aylmer Road the diversion will be Aylmer Road, Archway Road, North Hill, North Road Hampstead Lane and vice versa.

There are contingency dates in case the dismantling can’t proceed due to weather.

The contingency dates are from Thursday 11th December 2025 to 15th December 2025.

A ‘no waiting, loading or parking’ restriction will be enforced from 13:00pm on 11th December 2025 and will be in effect until 20:00pm on 15th December 2025. The road closure will be enforced from 06:00am on 12th December 2025 and will be in effect until 20:00pm on 15th December 2025.

Nothing in the above paragraphs shall apply to anything done with the permission of or at the direction of a Police Officer in uniform or other uniformed personnel authorised by the Commissioner of the Metropolis.
