Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C38 (Part), Alton; from its property known as Honeystreet Farm for a distance of approximately 880m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to access to underground BT structure to repair service – No structural changes. Work being carried out on existing BT plant. Alternative route via C38 (unaffected length) – C8 – C52 – C261 – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. B) Parkside (Part), Chippenham; from its property known as The New House for a distance of approximately 79m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out duct laying works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 27 November 2025, and the closure will be required for 5 days. C) Post Office Lane, Broad Hinton; from its junction with Summers Lane to its junction with A4361 to enable Openreach to carry out ducting work and other associated works. Alternative route via A4361 – Summers Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 3 days. D) Gloucester Road (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Park Road to its junction with Katifer Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out gully clearance works and other associated works. Alternative route via Gloucester Road (unaffected length) – Bristol Street – Sherston Road – Parklands – Park Road and vice versa. E) Bath Road (Part), Cricklade; from its junction with B4040 for a distance of approximately 165m in a westerly direction to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out mains works and other associated works. F) UC 047502 (Part), Hilmarton; from its junction with C15 to its junction with UC 047501 to enable Openreach to carry out new pole installations and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 02 December 2025. H) C137 (Part), Derry Hill and Studley;from its property known as The Warren for a distance of approximately 32m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out blockage clearance, repair works and other associated works. This Order will come into operation on 03 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 for 3 days. This Order will come into operation on 08 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days. M) Rectory Lane, Cricklade; from its junction with High Street for its entire length to enable Wales & West Utilities Ltd to carry out gas main replacement works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 03 November 2025, and the closure will be required until 14 November 2025. O) Row Lane (Part), Seend; from its junction with Seend Head to its property known as Seend Row Farm to enable Openreach to carry out access to overhead networks, cabling for new customer and associated works. Alternative route via Row Lane (unaffected length) – C226 – A361 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 01 October 2025 will now recommence on 04 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. P) The Tarters, Sherston; from its junction with Gastons Lane for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway repair works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order which previously came into operation on 03 October 2025 will now recommence on 03 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 until 10 November 2025. Orders A) to M) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Orders N) to P) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

B) C135 (Part), Bremhill; from its junction with C118 to its property known as Maison Histoire.

Phase 2: C) C118 (Part), Bremhill; from its junction with A3102 to its junction with C135.

D) C135 (Part), Bremhill; from its junction with C118 to its property known as Maison Histoire to enable Wessex Water to carry out mains replacement works and other associated works. Alternative route east via C135 (unaffected length) – Catcombe Street – Beacon Hill – A3102 – C118 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route north via Turf House Lane – Catcombe Street – Beacon Hill – A3102 – C118 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route northwest via C134 – C118 (unaffected length) – C112 – C113 – Wick Hill from Maude Heaths Causeway Northeast to Turf House Lane – Turf House Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route southwest phase 2 via A3102 – A4 – C113 – Wick Hill from Maude Heaths Causeway Northeast to Turf House Lane – Turf House Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025, and closure will be required until 01 March 2026.

It is anticipated that the work will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely to be inevitable due to the nature of the work. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all users:

A) Footpath 30, Ramsbury; from its junction with Newtown Road to its junction with Bridleway 18B, Ramsbury to enable Bridge repair in the interest of health and safety. No alternative route is available. This closure will be enacted as an emergency notice, will come into operation on 06 November 2025, and the closure will be required until 05 May 2026.

This Order will come into operation on 03 November 2025, and closure will be required for 3 days.
