What is happening?

(Bowles Close and Newman Drive, Burnham-On-Crouch) (20mph Zone) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2), and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order:
To implement: a ‘20mph Zone’ on the following length of roads, in the District of Maldon,

| Bowles Close | From its junction with Endeavour Way, North West for approximately 99 metres for its entire length including private drives and turning heads. |
| Newman Drive | From a point approximately 70 metres from its junction with Endeavour Way, North then West and East for approximately 73 metres for its remaining length including private drives and turning heads. |

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Blind Lane, Tolleshunt Knights) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Blind Lane, Tolleshunt Knights in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 205m north east of its junction with Oxley Hill for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30059929333 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Rectory Road, Brook Road, Top Road, Oxley Hill and vice versa (with access only into Blind Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Gate Street, Maldon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gate Street, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013335267 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Gate Street, Silver Street, High Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Steeple Road, Latchingdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Steeple Road, Latchingdon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 550m east then north east of its junction with Burnham Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a north easterly then easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20220569856 – Treefella). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by Treefella.
An alternative route is available via B1021, Green Lane, Foxhall Road, Highlands Hill, Green Lane, B1018 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(High Street, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 95m north of its junction with Moor Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010723077 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Moor Road, Chapel Road and vice versa (with access only into High Street).
The Order came into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
