Bury, Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(NIPPER LANE, WHITEFIELD) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Nipper Lane, Whitefield – between Radcliffe New Road & Lomax Street

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate gas works

The alternate route will be via Nipper Lane, South Avenue, Radcliffe New Road & vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 17/11/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 3 weeks.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Spring Lane, Radcliffe – between Bridgefield Street & Bury Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing & cyclops junction works.

The alternative route will be via Blackburn Street, Pilkington Way, Dale Street, Deansgate & Church Street West & vice–versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 17 November 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is up to 4 nights, 8pm to 6am
