Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Waiting Restrictions

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MARQUIS LANE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Marquis Lane, Harpenden from its junction with B652 Station Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Crabtree Lane, a distance of approximately 373m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, Langdale Avenue and Crabtree Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORCHARD DRIVE, PARK STREET) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Drive, Park Street from a point in line with the north east boundary of No.91 Orchard Drive south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Orchard Drive, Dell Rise, Mayflower Road and Orchard Drive.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WILLOUGHBY ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Willoughby Road, Harpenden from its junction with Ox Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 172m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Ox Lane, Clarendon Road, St James Road and Willoughby Road or via Ox Lane, Clarendon Road and Lea Road.

The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS) ORDER NO.3 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:--

    1. that length of Cambridge Road, St Albans from its junction with Camp View Road south eastwards to its junction with Ashley Road, a distance of approximately 464m.

      An alternative route will be via Sutton Road, Hedley Road and Ashley Road or via Cambridge Road, Camp View Road, Camp Road and Ashley Road.

    1. that length of Ely Road, St Albans from its junction with Cambridge Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 33m.

      An alternative route will be via Cambridge Road, College Road, Camp Road and Ely Road.

    1. that length of Royston Road, St Albans from its junction with Cambridge Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 39m.

      An alternative route will be via Cambridge Road, Wellington Road, Camp Road and Royston Road.

  1. that length of Beresford Road, St Albans from its junction with Cambridge Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 35m.

    An alternative route will be via Cambridge Road, Ashley Road, Camp Road and Beresford Road.

The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A1081 LONDON COLNEY BYPASS, LONDON COLNEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A1081 London Colney Bypass, London Colney from its junction with the A414 London Colney roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the A1081 The Bell roundabout, a distance of approximately 2185m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, A405 North Orbital Road and the M25 or via High Street and Barnet Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 3 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITE HORSE LANE, LONDON COLNEY AND LONDON COLNEY PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.012 DURING THE ‘LONDON COLNEY FIREWORKS DISPLAY’) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:–

    1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of White Horse Lane, London Colney from its junction with A414 North Orbital Road south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 1222m (“the Road”).

      An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road and High Street.

  1. To prohibit all pedestrians from using London Colney Public Footpath No.012 from its junction with White Horse Lane south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 315m (“the Public Footpath”).

    There is no alternative route available for pedestrians during the event. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

The Order is needed to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of the ‘London Colney Fireworks Display’.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 November 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Public Footpath.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (ORCHARD DRIVE, ST ALBANS) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Orchard Drive, St Albans as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
