Braintree District, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

(Old Road, Feering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Road, Feering in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 555m south east then south of its junction with Langley Green for a distance of approximately 30m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th November 2025 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (AD03062964783 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via: Wills Green, Coggeshall Road, Skye Green Road, and vice versa. (with access only into Old Road).

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Sw3) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 6th November 2025 exact dates of works will be posted on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase in both directions and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/letter drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while micro ducting works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.15) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule below.

  2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction is in force.

  3. The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 6th November 2025 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Boars Tye Road, Silver End in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 160m north west of its junction with Fenestra Way for a distance of approximately 70m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th November 2025 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (EN013326193A – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via: Boars Tye Road, Lanham Green Road, The Street, Polecat Road, B1018, Temple Lane, Boars Tye Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Drive, Braintree & Bocking) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Drive, Braintree & Bocking in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 55m south west of its junction with Challis Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th November 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166196049/1 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via: Park Drive, Goldingham Drive, Milton Avenue, Masefield Road, Challis Lane, Park Drive and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
