Cartmel, Temporary Road Closure Due To Highway Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5040 CARTMEL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C5040 Cartmel, from its junction with Greenbank Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.3km.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the C5042, C5041, C5053 and the unrestricted section of the C5040.

The Order will come into operation on 17th November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
