Braintree, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Carriageway Repairs

What is happening?

ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

(Prayors Hill, Sible Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Prayors Hill, Sible Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Rectory Road to its junction with Wethersfield Road a distance of approximately 215m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th November 2025 for 4 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388696 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via: Wethersfield Road, Hedingham Road, Hudson Hill, B1053, A131, A1017, Rectory Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 6th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Belchamp Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare/ Little Yeldham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Belchamp Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare/Little Yeldham in the District of Braintree, from the junction with Ovington Road to the junction with Mashey Road a distance of approximately 1250m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th November 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391630/ EP201EH2391630A - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via: Ovington Road, Clare Road, Tilbury Road, Bradley Hill, Ashen Road, Hickford Hill, Shearing Place Road, Church Street, Vicarage Road, Gages Road, Knowl Green and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 24th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tilbury Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tilbury Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Airfield Road to its junction with Tilbury Road a distance of approximately 705m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th November 2025 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391569 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via: Tilbury Road, Ashen Road, Ridgewell Road, The Street, Foxes Road, Airfield Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 23rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
