TRAFFIC ORDER 2025 - NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 53 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:
- Introducing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions in York as follows:
(a) Acomb Road, on its:
(i) south side, between a point 17 metres west from the projected centreline of West Bank (terminal point of the existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and a point 45 metres east from the centreline of Braeside Gardens (terminal point of the existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions),
(ii) south side, between points 81 metres (terminal points of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 110 metres (terminal points of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) west from the projected centreline of Lindley Street,
(iii) north side, between points 40 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 65 metres west from the projected centreline of Monument Close.
(b) Albemarle Road, on both sides, between the projected northern kerbline of Campelshon Road and the projected southern property boundary line of No. 166 Albemarle Road,
(c) Alma Terrace, on its south side, between points 13 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 16 metres east from the projected centreline of Carey Street,
(d) Amberley Street, on both sides;
(i) between the projected south eastern kerbline Berkeley Terrace and a point 10 metres south east of the said line,
(ii) between the projected north western kerbline of Chatsworth Terrace and a point 10 metres north west,
(e) Barkston Avenue, on both sides, from the projected north eastern kerbline of Chapelfields Road and a point 12 metres north east of the said line,
(f) Barlow Street, on both sides;
(i) between the projected northern kerbline of Dodgson Terrace and a point 10 metres north,
(ii) between the projected southern kerbline of Inman Terrace and a point 10 metres south,
(g) Bede Avenue, on its:
(i) north west side and turning head at the south west side, from the projected southern kerbline of Dale Street to a point 10 metres north west,
(ii) south east and north east side, from the southern property boundary line of No. 15 Bede Avenue south for the remainder of its length,
(h) Berkeley Terrace, on its south east side:
(i) between points 10 metres north and 10 metres south from the projected centreline of Amberley Street,
(ii) between points 10 metres north and 10 metres south from the projected centreline of Linton Street,
(i) Broadway, on its south side, between points 16 metres east and 16 metres west from the projected centreline of The Link,
(j) Campelshon Road, on its:
(i) north side, between the projected eastern kerbline of Knavesmire Crescent and a point 16 metres east from the projected eastern kerbline of Albemarle Road,
(ii) south side, between the projected eastern kerbline of Racecourse Road and a point 15 metres east of the said line,
(k) Carlton Avenue, on both sides, between points 12 metres north west and 12 metres south east from the projected centreline Wolviston Avenue,
(l) Carr Lane, on its east side, between the projected south western kerbline of Priory Green and the south western property boundary line of 197 Carr Lane,
(m) Chapelfields Road, on its north east side, between points 20 metres north west and 20 metres south east from the projected centreline of Barkston Avenue,
(n) Chatsworth Terrace, on its north west side,
(i) between points 10 metres north east and 10 metres south west from the projected centreline of Amberley Street,
(ii) between points 10 metres north east and 10 metres south west from the projected centreline of Linton Street,
(o) Cranbrook Avenue, on its:
(i) north west side, between the projected southern kerbline of Boroughbridge Road and the projected northern property boundary line of No. 2 Cranbrook Avenue,
(ii) south east side, between the projected southern kerbline of Boroughbridge Road and a point 25 metres south of the said line,
(p) Crosslands Road, on both sides including the turning head, between a point 10 metres west from the projected western kerbline of Grants Avenue (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) west for the remainder of its length,
(q) Curzon Terrace, on both sides, between the projected northern kerbline of Dale Street and the projected southern property boundary line of No. 99 Curzon Terrace,
(r) Dale Street, on both sides, between points 10 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 8 metres from the highway boundary line the north east side of Nunnthorpe Road, thereby revoking the existing Residents restrictions) south west from the projected highway boundary line on the south west of Skeldergate, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(s) Danebury Drive, on its east side, between points 10 metres south of the projected southern kerbline of Rosedale Avenue and a point 10 metres north of the projected northern kerbline of Rosedale Avenue,
(t) Dodgson Terrace, on its north side, between points 10 metres east and 10 metres west from the projected centreline of Barlow Street,
(u) Falsgrave Crescent, on its east side, between the southern property boundary line of No. 4 Falsgrave Crescent south for the remainder of its length,
(v) Fetter Lane, on its south east side, between points 10 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 113 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) south west from the projected highway boundary line on the south west of Skeldergate, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(w) Field View, on its north side, between a point 15 metres west from the projected western property boundary line of No. 4 Field View (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and a point 12 metres west from the projected centreline of Tennyson Avenue (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions),
(x) Garfield Terrace, on both sides, between the projected eastern and western property boundary of No. 79 Garfield Terrace,
(y) Garland Street, on both sides;
(i) between the projected south western kerbline of Linton Street and a point 10 metres south west,
(ii) between the projected north eastern kerbline of Winchester Avenue and a point 10 metres north east,
(z) Garnet Terrace, on both sides, between the projected southern kerbline of Garfield Terrace and the projected northern property boundary line of No. 2 Garnet Terrace,
(aa) Garths End, on both sides including the turning head, between a point 10 metres west from the projected western kerbline of Grants Avenue (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) west for the remainder of its length,
(bb) Hamilton Drive, on its south side, between the projected eastern property boundary of No. 147 Hamilton Drive and the projected western property boundary of No. 149 Hamilton Drive,
(cc) Harlow Close, on both sides, between the projected eastern kerbline of Harlow Road and a point 12 metres east of the said line,
(dd) Harlow Road, on its east side, between points 12 metres north and 12 metres south from the projected centreline of Harlow Close,
(ee) Heathfield Road, on both sides, between the projected south eastern kerbline of Millfield Lane and a point 10 metres south east of the said line,
(ff) Hempland Lane, on both sides, between the projected southern kerbline of Stockton Lane and the projected south western property boundary line of No. 5 Hempland Lane,
(gg) Hunters Way, on both sides, between the projected northern kerbline of Middlethorpe Grove and a point 20 metres north,
(hh) Huntington Mews, on its west and south sides between a point 6 metres west from the projected western property boundary line of No 28 Huntington Mews south west for the remainder of its length,
(ii) Inman Terrace, between points 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east from the projected centreline of Barlow Street,
(jj) Kingsway West, on both sides including the south west end, from the projected north eastern property boundary line of No. 203 Thanet Road south west for the remainder of its length,
(kk) Knavesmire Crescent, on its:
(i) both sides, between the projected northern kerbline of Campelshon Road and the projected northern property boundary line of No. 132 Knavesmire Crescent,
(ii) north east side including the northern turning head, from the projected northern property boundary line of No. 12 Knavesmire Crescent north for the remainder of its length,
(ll) Knavesmire Road, on both sides, between the projected western kerbline of Knavesmire Crescent and a point 95 metres north west of the said line,
(mm) Lady Mill Garth, on its south side and the south eastern turning head, between a point 32 metres south east from its junction with Crombie Avenue,
(nn) Lansdowne Terrace, on its west side, from a point 9 metres north from the projected northern kerbline of Lawrence Street north to the projected southern kerbline of the link road between Granville Terrace and Lansdowne Terrace, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ Monday to Friday 9am–5pm restriction from within that length,
(oo) Linton Street, on
(i) both sides, between the projected south eastern kerbline of Berkeley Street and a point 10 metres south east,
(ii) South west side, between points 10 metre north west and 10 metres south east from the projected centreline of Garland Street,
(iii) both sides, between the projected north western kerbline of Chatsworth Terrace and a point 10 metres north west,
(pp) Little Avenue, on both sides, between the projected eastern kerbline of Sutton Way and a point 10 metres north west,
(qq) Manor Drive South, on its:
(i) east side, from the projected northern property boundary line of No. 44 Manor Drive South north for the remainder of its length,
(ii) west and north side, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 45 Manor Drive South north for the remainder of its length,
(rr) Maplehurst Avenue, on its:
(i) north side, from a point 54 metres west from the projected western kerbline of Huntington Mews (terminal point of the existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) west for the remainder of its length,
(ii) east side, from the projected northern kerbline of Maplehurst Avenue north for the remainder of its length,
(iii) west side, from the projected northern kerbline of Maplehurst Avenue north for the remainder of its length,
(ss) Martin’s Court, on its south side, between points 29 metres and 49 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) south east from the projected southern kerbline of Leeman Road,
(tt) Mattison Way, on both sides, between the projected southern kerbline of Hamilton Drive and a point 26 metres south of the said line,
(uu) Mickelgate, on its north side, between 13 metres north east and 13 metres south west from the projected centreline of Lilling Avenue,
(vv) Middlethorpe Grove, on its north side, from the projected centreline of Hunters Way north west for 18 metres and south east for 18 metres,
(xx) Millfield Avenue, on both sides, between the projected western kerbline of Millfield Lane and a point 20 metres west from the said line,
(yy) Millfield Lane, on its:
(i) north west side, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 10 Millfield Lane and the projected south western property boundary line of No. 13 Millfield Lane,
(ii) south east side, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 10 Millfield Lane and a point 6 metres south from the projected south western property boundary line of No. 30 Millfield Lane,

(ii) north side, between the projected western property boundary line of No. 1 Meadow Court and a point 48 metres east,
(ddd) Ouseburn Avenue, on both sides between the protected northern property boundary line of No. 23 Ouseburn Avenue and the projected western property boundary line of No. 31 Ouseburn Avenue,
(eee) Pembroke Street, on its west side, from the projected north eastern kerbline of Glencoe Street north for 11 metres,
(fff) Priory Green, on both sides, between the projected south eastern kerbline of Carr Lane and a point 20 metres west of the said line (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions),
(ggg) Queens Staith, on its:
(i) north side, from its junction with Skeldergate north east for the remainder of its length, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(ii) east side, from the projected southern kerbline of Queens Staith north west for the remainder of its length, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(iii) west side, from the projected northern kerbline of Queens Staith north west for the remainder of its length, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(hhh) Queens Staith Road, on both sides, from its junction with Skeldergate north east for the remainder of its length, thereby revoking the existing ‘No Waiting’ 8am–6pm restriction from within that length,
(iii) St. Stephen’s Road, on its:
(i) north west side, between a point 30 metres south west of the projected highway boundary line on the south west side of Gale Lane (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and the projected north eastern property boundary line of No. 2 St. Stephen’s Road,
(ii) south east side, between points 30 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions) and 39 metres south west from the projected highway boundary line on the south west side of Gale Lane,
(jjj) Stockton Lane, on both sides, between the projected south western kerbline of No. 67 Stockton Lane and the projected western kerbline of Hempland Lane
(kkk) Straylands Grove, on both sides, between the projected north eastern kerbline of Woodlands Grove and the projected property boundary line of No. 25 Straylands Grove,
(lll) Sutton Way, on its:
(i) north east side, between a point 10 metres north of the northern kerbline of Little Avenue and a point 10 metres south of the southern kerbline of Little Avenue,
