Wiltshire - Temporary Road Closures due to Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) A354 (Part), Coombe Bissett; from its junction with Rockbourne Road to its property known as Beech Cottage to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via A354 (unaffected length) – A338 – A31 – A350 – A354 (unaffected length) and vice versa. B) Church Road, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Parsonage Hill to its junction with The Street to enable Wessex Internet to carry out communication equipment repairs and associated works. Alternative route via The Street – Parsonage Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 November 2025. C) C295 (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with A30 to its junction with Charlton Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out coring and associated works. Alternative route via C295 (unaffected length) – C312 – A30 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. D) C314 (Part), Donhead St Andrew; from its junction with Fortis Hill to its property known as Shirley Cottage to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via C314 (unaffected length) – A30 – C61 – C314 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. E) Bridge Road (Part), Bishopstone; from its property known as The Bridges for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out bridge and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 28 November 2025. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

F) C287 (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with The Steadings to its junction with Greenlane Close to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out cycleway and associated works. Alternative route via C287 (unaffected length) – Ford Lane – A338 – A30 – A36 – A345 – C287 (unaffected length) and vice versa. G) Pearce Way (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Applin Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out cycleway improvement scheme and associated works. Alternative route via Pearce Way (unaffected length) – Sycamore Drive – Hartley Way – St Clements Way – St Thomas Way – A30 and vice versa. H) Whitsbury Road (Part), Odstock; from its junction with Odstock Road for a distance of approximately 1km in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out tree and associated works. Alternative route via Whitsbury Road (unaffected length) – Nunton Drive – Odstock Road and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 08 September 2025 will now recommence on 03 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 until 06 November 2025. I) C285 (Part), Idmiston; from its property known as Leighurst for a distance of approximately 80m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to complete a relining of the sewer to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via C285 (unaffected length) – A338 – C288 – C285 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 06 October 2025 will now recommence on 03 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 10 November 2025. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600. Orders A) to G) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Orders H) and I) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users:

A) Restricted Byway 17 (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Pearce Way to its junction with Footpath 12, Laverstock and Ford.

B) Footpath 12, Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Restricted Byway 12, Laverstock and Ford to its junction with Ford Lane to enable Green Lane Cycleway Improvement Scheme, the scheme includes the addition of a new crossing on Pearce Way, the upgrade of the existing shared-use track, and the implementation of traffic calming measures along Roman Road. Machinery operating in this area is large and will occupy the majority of the track during the day. For the safety of the workforce and those who use the highway it will be closed. Some areas of the track will remain open where possible.

Alternative route A via Footpath 11, Laverstock and Ford – Holmes Road – Pearce Way and vice versa.

No alternative route is available for B. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 23 May 2026. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
