Chester-le-Street, Amendment To Parking & Waiting Restrictions Order
What is happening?

(Chester-Le-Street And Birtley) (Parking & Waiting Restrictions) Consolidation No. 3 Order 2015 (Amendment No. 1) Order 2025
The Council on 24/10/2025 made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 35 and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 7/11/2025 and will bring into force the following restrictions:
‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on:

the northern side of Weldon Terrace, starting from a point adjacent to Number 16 Weldon Terrace, for a distance of 53 metres in a westerly then northerly direction into Lumley Terrace

both sides of Lancaster Terrace, starting from a point adjacent to Number 8 Lancaster Terrace, for a distance of 5 metres in a southerly direction

the eastern side of Woodlands, starting from existing restrictions, for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction
-
the western side of Woodlands, starting from existing restrictions, for a distance of 18 metres in a northerly direction
-
both sides of the junction from Laurel Court onto Glenavon Avenue, starting from a point adjacent to Number 1 Laurel Court, for a distance of 10 metres
-
the northern side of the junction from the A167, North Road into Longdean Park, starting from a point adjacent to Number 13 North Road, for a distance of 32 metres in a north-westerly direction

the southern side of the junction from the A167, North Road into Longdean Park, starting from a point adjacent to Number 13 North Road, for a distance of 27 metres in a south-westerly direction

the northern side of the junction from the A167, North Road into Low Flatts Road, starting from a point adjacent to Number 44 North Road, for a distance of 18 metres in a north-easterly direction

the southern side of the junction from the A167, North Road into Low Flatts Road, starting from a point adjacent to Number 44 North Road, for a distance of 18m in a south-easterly direction
‘No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time’ restrictions on:

the southern side of the junction from Station Road onto Osborne Road, starting from a point adjacent to Turriff House, for a distance of 21 metres in a north-easterly direction
‘Permit holders only, Monday–Saturday, 9:30–11:30am, 3:30–5:30pm’ restrictions on:

the eastern side of Lumley Terrace, from a point adjacent to Number 2 Lumley Terrace, for a distance of 120 metres in a southerly direction

the western side of Lumley Terrace, from a point adjacent to No. 1 Lumley Terrace, for a distance of 123.5m in a southerly direction
A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Chester-Le-Street Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by “the Act”, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 24/10/2025.
