Croft Street - Temporary Prohibition To Pedestrains
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A682 CENTENARY WAY, CROFT STREET AND GUNSMITH PLACE, BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION TO PEDESTRAINS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed over the following lengths of highway.
i. Croft Street on its most eastern footway from its junction with Gunsmith Place for a distance of 17 metres in a northerly direction.
ii. Gunsmith Place, Burnley for its entire length.
iii. A682 Centenary Way, Burnley on its most westerly footway from its junction with Gunsmith Place for a distance of 40 metres in a northerly direction. 
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Monday 3rd November 2025 until 1630 hours on Friday 5th December 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. A diversion for affected pedestrians will be locally signed where appropriate and applicable.
The temporary prohibitions are necessary to allow Town2Turf public realm works to be carried out by Burnley Borough Council.
