Stanworth Rd - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RIGBY STREET AND STANWORTH ROAD, NELSON, PENDLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of 
i. Rigby Street, Nelson from outside 2 Rigby Street to its junction with Stanworth Road.
ii. Stanworth Road, Nelson from its junction with Rigby Street to outside the sorting office.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. 
i. The prohibition will be operative from 0020 hours until 0830 hours on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
ii. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours until 2000 hours on Sunday 9th November 2025.
iii. The prohibition will be operative from 0020 hours until 0830 hours on Sunday 16th November 2025.
or until completion of the works within this period.  
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. No diversion available due to the location of the works
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the removal of trees and plant access to railway line to be carried out.
