(TEMPORARY AMENDMENT) ORDER 2025
The Lancashire County Council (“the County Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, (the Act), and of all other enabling powers, HEREBY makes the following Order:-
The Lancashire County Council (Eagle Street, Raven Street, Vulcan Street, St Philips Street, Harvey Street, Seldon Street, Nelson, Pendle Borough) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025, is hereby temporarily Amended in that:
i. To amend Article 3 as follows: 
	The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 8th September 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 21st November 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.  The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Works are weather dependent and may be carried out on any of the dates specified.
This Temporary Amendment Order shall come into operation on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 and may be cited as “The Lancashire County Council (Eagle Street, Raven Street, Vulcan Street, St Philips Street, Harvey Street, Seldon Street, Nelson, Pendle Borough) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025 (Temporary Amendment) Order 2025”

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
ii. Eagle Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
iii. Raven Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
iv. Vulcan Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
v. St Philips Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
vi. Harvey Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
vii. Seldon Street from its junction with Leeds Road for a distance of 15 metres in a south westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 8th September 2025 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Works are weather dependent and may be carried out on any of the dates specified.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services will have to follow the diversion. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. Eagle Street 
	Bradley Hall Road – Valcan Street – Leeds Road and vice versa
ii. Raven Street
	Bradley Hall Road – Valcan Street – Leeds Road and vice versa
iii. Valcan Street 
	Bradley Hall Road – Priory Street – Leeds Road and vice versa
iv. St Philips Street
	Chapel Street – Barkerhouse Road – Leeds Road and vice versa
v. Harvey Street
	Chapel Street – Barkerhouse Road – Leeds Road and vice versa
vi. Seldon Street
	Chapel Street – Barkerhouse Road – Leeds Road and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas mains replacements works to be carried out.
