(Worthing: Victoria Road)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Victoria Road in Worthing throughout its entire length.

The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 27 October 2025 and remain in force until 20 February 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order the road will be closed in short sections as works progress along its length. Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

Any queries about the effect of the Order on traffic using the highway should be directed to the WSCC Contact Centre, telephone number 01243 642105.  Ref: TTRO-2572- MM

(Worthing: Chatsworth Road and Union Place)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary restrictions on roads in Worthing as follows:

CHATSWORTH ROAD: to re-locate the parking bays reserved for motorcycles and for disabled blue badge holders at the eastern end of the road and to replace a length of single yellow line on the northern side of the road with double yellow lines, reducing the length of an existing Pay-and-Display parking bay by 4M. The amended parking restrictions will come into operation on 3 November 2025.

The Order also permits the temporarily closure of Chatsworth Road in Worthing, from its junction with the High Street Multi-Storey Car Park exit, westwards for 55M. This restriction is needed to allow new utility connections to be installed. Dates for these works will be indicated on site in due course.

UNION PLACE: to remove all parking bays and single yellow line restrictions on both sides of Union Place, preplacing them with a restriction prohibiting waiting at any time, except for the parking bays for buses and disabled person’s blue badge holders at the western end of the road, both of which will be retained. While these restrictions are in place Union Place will be closed to eastbound traffic.

The restrictions in Union Place are expected to be enacted from early January 2026.

The above restrictions are needed to maintain access for construction vehicles while a new property development is built on the former site of Worthing Police Station. During these works access will be required via a site entrance on Chatsworth Road and safety hoarding will be installed along the southern carriageway of Union Place.

Construction of the development is expected to take three years. The temporary restrictions enacted by this Order will remain in effect for up to 18 months, or until permanent alterations to restrictions are installed, subject to public consultation.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

Any queries about the effect of the Order on traffic using the highway should be directed to the WSCC Contact Centre, telephone number 01243 642105.  Ref: TTRO-2638- MM

(Ford: Various Public Footpaths)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close various public footpaths in Ford as follows:

Public Footpath 175: throughout its entire length, Public Footpath 200/3: from its junction with Public Footpath 366 eastwards to its junction with Public Footpath 366_1, Public Footpath 363: from its junction with Public Footpath 363/1 north-eastwards to its junction with Public Footpath 366, Public Footpath 366: from its junction with Public Footpath 363 northwards to its junction with Ford Lane.

The closure of these routes is needed to allow preparatory works for a property development to be carried out in safety.

The Order extends the operation of an existing closure notice and will come into effect on 30 October 2025. Once made, the Order is expected to remain in force for up to 6 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

Unfortunately, during the operative period of the order, no alternative route is currently availably using the Public Rights of Way Network.

Any queries about the effect of the Order on traffic using the highway should be directed to the WSCC Public Rights of Way Team, telephone number 01243 777620.  Ref: TTRO-2642- MM

((Arun District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2010)

(Littlehampton: Connaught Road and Queens Street Amendment) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made two permanent Orders under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

The first Order prohibits driving from 0800 hours to 0930 hours and from 1430 hours to 1600 hours Mon-Fri on Connaught Road in Littlehampton from its junction with Queens Street, eastwards to the eastern end of the road. The restriction also applies to a short section of Queens Street from the southern kerb line of the western limb of Connaught Road, southwards to the southern end of the road. The restriction enacts a ‘School Street’ on the affected lengths of roads. The second proposed order enacts a recently installed restriction prohibiting waiting at any time on the northern side of Connaught Road from its junction with Queens Street eastwards to the existing ‘School Keep Clear’ marking. The restriction would also extend northwards along the eastern side of Queens Street for 6M.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 4 November 2025, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 30 October 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
