NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC
PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER
AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT
MODIFICATION ORDER NO 4, 2018
PUBLIC FOOTPATH HEMSWORTH NO 20

On the 27th October 2025 the Council of the City of Wakefield confirmed the above Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed will extinguish a public footpath 1.2 m wide shown by a bold solid line on the plan annexed hereto commencing at its junction with the existing path at point A on the plan, adjacent to 65 Grove Lane, at map reference 4353 1290 proceeding in a easterly direction for 24 metres to its junction with the existing path on the plan at point B on Grove Lane east of the entrance to the allotment site, at map reference 4355 1289.

The above Order will also modify the Council of the City of Wakefield Definitive Map and Statement by deleting from it the path or way referred to in Paragraph 1 of the Order.

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be requested via e mail at prowteam@wakefield.gov.uk The Order comes into force on the 27th October 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act, has not been complied with in relation to the Order he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the 30th October 2025 make an application to the High Court.
