Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Public Footpath LA20/8, Scotch Horn Leisure Centre, Nailsea, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 12 November 2025

Ref: Footpath LA20/8

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work arranged by North Somerset Council to enable the erection of scaffolding for replacement of roof and storage of materials which has caused concerns for public safety using the Public Right of Way. This order will become operative on the 12 November 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 months in duration. Appropriate signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 17 December 2025

Ref: SW25.26-190

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This order will become operative on the 17 December 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Truespeed to span cable between poles for customer connection. This order will become operative on the 12 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 8.30am and 4pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Footpath Hazell Close, Clevedon, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 26 January 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid to place three joint holes in tarmac footway and 93m trenching in tarmac footway for cable diversion for reinforcement scheme. This order will become operative on the 26 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council for New electricity service for stables. This order will become operative on the 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Date coming into Force: 3 December 2025

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities for relaying steel gas service. This order will become operative on the 3 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for cabling work. This order will become operative on the 8 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Final Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, has made the order, the effect of which:

Clevedon Road, Walton-in-Gordano, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 3 November 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order was required because of highway drainage maintenance works and will become operative on 3 November 2025, anticipated to be of 1 working day. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule – Clevedon Road, Walton-in-Gordano outside the property called Roseway.

Bridgwater Road (A38) and Colliters Way (A4174), Long Ashton, North Somerset

Temporary 30mph Speed Limit Order and Prohibition of Overtaking Order 2025

Date came into force: 3 November 2025

Ref: T25-60

Is to restrict, temporarily, any vehicle from exceeding 30mph and prohibit them from overtaking on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services.

This order was necessary in the interest of public safety and the facilitation of road works to be undertaken relating to BSIP (Bus Service Improvement Plan) at Bristol Road (B3440) and West Wick, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset. The order will become operative on 3 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the temporary speed limit and prohibition of overtaking may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 11 weeks in duration.

Schedule – A38 Bridgwater Road, Long Ashton from the roundabout to the Castle Farm on the south-west bound arm of the roundabout to the beginning of the layby on the north-east bound arm of the roundabout. A4174 Colliters Way, Long Ashton from the Lime Kiln Roundabout information signpost on the north-west bound arm of the roundabout to the tarmacked gate entrances on the south-east bound arm of the roundabout including the roundabout itself.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to stand a new pole. This order will become operative on the 10 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
