What is happening?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under
Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of
Highways (North East) (No.20) Order 2025” authorising
the stopping up of unnamed footpaths bounded by
Windhill Road, Pottery Bank, Burwood Road and Oldfield
Road, the unnamed footpath connecting Windhill Road
and Pottery Bank and  the unnamed footpath connecting
Windhill Road and Oldfield Road at Walker, in the City of
Newcastle. This is to enable development as permitted by
Newcastle City Council under reference 2025/0486/01/DET.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge,
from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework
Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or
nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/
S247/6088). They may also be inspected during normal
opening hours at Pottery Bank Community Centre, Yelverton
Crescent, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 3SW.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the
decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court
within 6 weeks from 3 November 2025.
