What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
PART OF MARTON ROAD, BRIDLINGTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part
of Marton Road, Bridlington encompassing property
numbers 110 through to 116 commencing
18 November 2025 between 19.00 hours until 23.00
hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the
proposed Marton Road, Bridlington replacement of
cover and frame to manhole works, to be carried out
and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works
will be completed within four hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via B1255 Marton Road, B1423 Scarborough Road
South, B1423 St John Street, B1423 Quay Road,
Prospect Street, Chapel Street, B1254 Promenade,
B1254 Flamborough Road, B1254 Fortyfoot, B1254
Sewerby Heads, B1254 Cross Street, B1254 Queen
Street, B1254 Bridge Street, B1254 Hilderthorpe
Road and B1423 Springfield Avenue, Bridlington CP,
Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward, Bridlington
South Ward, Bridlington North Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians. The Order will commence 18 November
2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
