Winchester, Temporary Road Closures Due To Excavation Works

What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - OLD STOKE ROAD, WONSTON, WINCHESTER / STOKE CHARITY ROAD, KINGS WORTHY, WINCHESTER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Old Stoke Road between its junction with Weston Down Road and its junction with Alresford Drove

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - STOKE CHARITY ROAD, KINGS WORTHY, WINCHESTER

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of Stoke Charity Road between its junction with Alresford Drove and its junction with the access road to the recycling site

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Stoke Charity Road, Lovedon Lane, Basingstoke Road, Winchester Road, Weston Down Road, Sloe Lane

DURATION OF ORDER: from 10th November 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 102 days, working full time) The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for United Living (Southern Water) to carry out excavation works. United Living (Southern Water) will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
