Southend-On-Sea - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic And Parking For Planned Roadworks

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING (TTO25-26-29) ORDER 2025 (PRITTLEWELL CHASE, RAMPART STREET, SOUTHCHURCH BOULEVARD, BARNSTAPLE ROAD, ASHANTI CLOSE)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from stopping, waiting, loading, unloading and parking at the locations stated in Table 1 of this Notice.

The closure is scheduled to commence from 27 October 2025 to 16 December 2025, or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The alternative routes will be via Table 1 of this notice.

The Order will come into effect on 27 October 2025 until 16 December 2025; however, this Order may continue in force for a maximum of 18 months to allow for remedial work or delays.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst work is carried out for planned roadworks and maintenance.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
