The East Sussex (U7125 River Lane, Alfriston)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow CityFibre to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

River Lane – from the junction with C39 High Street to The Old Coach House.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 29 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 October and 1 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

School Lane – from the junction with A272 Main Road to the junction with C270 Five Chimneys Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C270 Five Chimneys Lane – A272 Curtains Hill, Main Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 28 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 28 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mallard Drive – from the junction with U7820 Mallard Drive to the end of the close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 28 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 27 and 28 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Church Road – from the junction with C659 Barcombe Mills Road to the junction with C8 Hamsey Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C8 Hamsey Road, High Street – C659 Barcombe Mills Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 19 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 30 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Common) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Swing Gate Hill – from the junction with C275 Spring Lane to the junction with A265 Heathfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C214 Witherenden Hill, Station Road – C83 Cottenden Road – C212 Battenhurst Road, Shrub Lane – A265 High Street, Paygate, Heathfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Danegate – from the junction with C12 Sham Farm Road to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C12 Sham Farm Road – A26 Eridge Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A267 Frant Road, Frant Green Road, Mayfield Road and vice versa. The Order commences 27 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Lift Assist Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Grange Road – from the junction with U5162 Southover High Street to the junction with U5119 St Pancras Road.

(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Hoathly and Halland Carnival Society to carry out an event, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Eastbourne Road/East Hoathly Bypass/South Street – from the junction with B2192 Lewes Road to the junction with C13 Park Lane.

The Order commences 8 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place from 17:00hrs to 23:00hrs on 8 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
