What is happening?
PUBLIC NOTICE:
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A
THE (RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC/PARKING) SPECIAL EVENTS ORDER 2025
(WEST LANE)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark, and in consultation with Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 16 (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. The purpose of the Order is to facilitate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day Services.
3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(a) entering, exiting or proceeding in West Lane, between Jamaica Road and Paradise Street.
(b) Stopping in the red route parking bays in West Lane outside No’s 7 – No’s 33, located between Jamaica Road and Paradise Street.
(c) stopping in the red route loading, unloading and disabled persons’ vehicles bays in West Lane, outside No’s 6 – No’s 12, located between Paradise Street and Jamaica Road.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of: (a) any vehicle being used for the purposes of this event or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by the London Borough of Southwark (c) The Order will be effective on Sunday 9th November and Tuesday 11th November between the hours of 10:00am – 12:00pm. (d) At such times as the prohibitions are in force, the alternative route for affected traffic will be adjacent roads as applicable.
