What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE A146 BECCLES ROAD, LOWESTOFT

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A146 Beccles Road, Lowestoft from the junction with Burnt Hill Lane to the junction with Burnt Hill Way to facilitate the installation of a new toucan crossing and carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Cotmer Road, Elm Tree Road, Castleton Avenue, the A1145, the A146, and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/11/2025 - 08/11/2025 from 7pm - 5am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
