Suffolk- Various Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE C450 LEATHER BOTTLE HILL, LITTLE BLAKENHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C450 Leather Bottle Hill, Little Blakenham from Red House to The Elms to facilitate fibre ducting works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Leather Bottle Hill, Somersham Road, Bramford, the B1113, Grinstead Hill, the B1078, Willisham Road, Main Road, Willisham, Willisham Hall Road, Ipswich Road, B1113, Main Road, Nettlestead, Main Road, Somersham, Somersham Road, Little Blakenham and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/10/2025 - 02/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE U4143 WOODLANDS, CHELMONDISTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4143 Woodlands, Chelmondiston from the junction with the B1456 to number 7 to facilitate excavation works for new water main. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Woodlands, Collimer Close, Church Road, the B1456 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/10/2025 - 02/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE B1077 ASPALL ROAD, DEBENHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1077 Aspall Road, Debenham from Gleensleeves to Derry Brook Lane to facilitate sheet piling, watercourse works and laying cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1117, the A140, the A1120 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/10/2025 - 02/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF
THE C414 SUTTON LANE, TATTINGSTONE
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C414 Sutton Lane, Tattingstone from 130 metres east of Orchard Cottage for 40 metres eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A137, the B1080, Bentley Lane, Stutton Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 05/11/2025 - 07/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C568 THE COMMON AND YAXLEY ROAD, MELLIS
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads.
• C568 The Common, Mellis from the level crossing for 20 metres north westbound
• C568 Yaxley Road, Mellis from the level crossing for 20 metres south eastbound
This is to facilitate a Network Rail inspection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A143, the A140 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 11pm on 05/11/2025 to 5am on 06/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF SHIPMEADOW) (BYWAY 16)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
This Order, which came into effect on 28 May 2025 closing Byway 16, Shipmeadow from The Hill, to Byway 17, has been extended in force by the Minister until 28/11/2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
This closure is required due to safety reasons due to the erosion damage. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. If the order had not been extended it would have ceased to be in force on 07/11/2025.
