Bootle – Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN BOOTLE AREA)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U4070 Mill Street, Bootle, from a point approx. 50m east of its junction with the A595, Main Street, extending in an overall north easterly direction for approx. 650m.
There is no suitable alternative route available.
Duration: From 10 November 2025 for approx. 7 days (Ref: TTROC/16144)
2. U4064 Broad Oak, Duddon Bridge, from a point approx. 2.6km south its junction with the A595, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 250m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4064, U4065 Duddon Bridge and the A595 Whicham and Bootle.
Duration: From 10 November 2025 for approx. 7 days (Ref: TTROC/16125)
3. Access road to Kiskin Farm, Bootle, from its junction with the C4027, Chapel Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 690m.
There is no suitable alternative route available.
Duration: From 24 November 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/16124)

The Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
