What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 114040 IN THE PARISH OF DALSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, due to ongoing riverbank erosion and to enable subsequent repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the entire length of Public Footpath No. 114040 in the Parish of Dalston. There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians. This follows an emergency notice dated 10 October 2025.

The Order will come into operation on 31 October 2025 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
