Goosefoot Lane, Samlesbury - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(GOOSEFOOT LANE, SAMLESBURY, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Goosefoot Lane, Samlesbury from its junction with Spring Lane, Samlesbury for a distance of 420 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Wednesday 12th November 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Goosefoot Lane – Further Lane - A677 Preston New Road - A59 Preston New Road - B6230 Cuerdale Lane - B6230 Church Brow - A675 Victoria Road – A675 Higher Walton Road - A675 Cann Bridge Street - A675 Blackburn Road - A675 Hoghton Lane - A675 The Straits - A675 Hoghton Lane - Gib Lane
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow pole testing works to be carried out.
