THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to undertake works on or near the A483 trunk road between Buttington Roundabout and Pool Quay, Powys.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all vehicles (other than those being used by the emergency services, for the works or winter maintenance service vehicles) and cyclists from proceeding on the length of the A483 trunk road that extends from the northern side of Buttington Roundabout to Wern Junction, Pool Quay.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the eastbound A458 from Buttington Roundabout to Churncote Roundabout, north-westbound A5 to Mile End Roundabout, Oswestry and southbound A483: vice versa for southbound traffic.

The Order comes into force on 27 October 2025. The temporary prohibition is expected to operate mostly overnight (19:00 – 07:00 hours) from 27 October until 22 December 2025, or until the temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.

Although the Order is only expected to be in force during the period specified above, it will remain valid for a maximum period of 18 months, as a contingency, should the works need to be rescheduled or consequential or other work is required.
