What is happening?

(VARIOUS ROADS, BIRMINGHAM) (101125)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Birmingham City Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be:
(i) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along WITTON LANE ROAD, ASTON between its junction with Aston Hall Road and its junction with Trinity Road.
(ii) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along the entire length of SUNNINGDALE CLOSE, HANDSWORTH.
(iii) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along the entire length of WEEFORD DRIVE, HANDSWORTH WOOD.
(iv) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along EAST MEADWAY, GLEBE FARM AND TILE CROSS between its junction with Kitt’s Green Road and its junction with Tile Cross Road.
(v) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along ST MARGARETS ROAD, WARD END between its junction with Washwood Heath Road and its junction with Bromford Lane.
(vi) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along ELKINGTON STREET, NEWTOWN between its junction with Newtown Middleway and its junction with Miller Street.

The temporary Order is required to highway maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by this Order will be signposted and access to frontages will be maintained as necessary.
These prohibitions shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The Order will come into operation on 10th November 2025 and will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.
