Croydon - Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Utility Works

What is happening?

b) One-way working in Woodside Green (fronting property Nos. 59 to 97) will be suspended and two-way traffic will apply.

c) Parking will be suspended on both sides of Woodside Green (fronting property Nos. 59 to 97) and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time.

3. During the closure the diversion route for traffic will be via Birchanger Road, Woodside Green and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on the 28 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 31 October 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(b) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

(c) Any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

CHIPSTEAD VALLEY ROAD, COULSDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main connection works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Chipstead Valley Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Chipstead Valley Road will be closed outside Nos. 344 and 344a Chipstead Valley Road to its junction with Linden Avenue.

3. During the closure, the diversion route for vehicles will be via Rectory Lane, Carshalton Road, Woodmansterne Road, Little Woodcote Lane, Woodcote Grove Road and vice versa as appropriately signposted.

4. The Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out by 2 November 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

SELSDON ROAD, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a rail bridge inspection, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Selsdon Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Selsdon Road will be closed between its junction with Chelsham Road and the entrance to Huws Gray Buildbase, Selsdon Goods Yard, Selsdon Road.

3. During the closure the diversion route for traffic will be via Selsdon Road, St Peters Road, Coombe Road, Coombe Lane, Gravel Hill, Selsdon Park Road, Addington Road and Upper Selsdon Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 09 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

KENDALL AVENUE SOUTH & NORMAN AVENUE, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Kendall Avenue South and Norman Avenue, South Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

(a) Kendall Avenue South will be closed at its junction with Purley Oaks Road.

(b) Norman Avenue will be closed at its junction with Purley Oaks Road.

3. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

Kendall Avenue South Closure:

• Eastbound traffic on Purley Oaks Road via Purley Oaks Road, Penwortham Road, Victoria Avenue, Kendall Avenue South and vice versa.

• Westbound traffic via Purley Oaks Road, Norman Avenue, Victoria Avenue, Kendall Avenue South and vice versa.

Norman Avenue Closure:

• Eastbound traffic on Purley Oaks Road via Purley Oaks Road, Kendall Avenue South, Victoria Avenue, Norman Avenue and vice versa.

• Westbound traffic pre-diverted via Kendall Avenue South, Victoria Avenue, Norman Avenue and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 06 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within thirty-one days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction will not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies,

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

AMPERE WAY, CROYDON

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate resurfacing works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Ampere Way.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Phased closures of the northbound and southbound sections of Ampere Way will apply between its junction with Franklin Way and the southern boundary of No. 76 Purley Way.

b) Parking within the closure areas will be prohibited and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time.

3. During the closures the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below. Access for deliveries to businesses will be maintained.

• Via Ampere Way, Beddington Farm Road, and A23

• Via Purley Way, Mitcham Road, Beddington Lane, Coomber Way, and Ampere Way

• Via Purley Way, Beddington Farm Road, and Ampere Way.

4. The Order will come into operation on 12 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 5am and completed on 14 November 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies,

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms ducting works on behalf of Openreach, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic movements and parking in High Street, Purley.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) The section of High Street, Purley, joining Purley Parade, High Street, Purley, and Brighton Road, will be closed.

b) The north-western footway of High Street, Purley, will be closed between No. 911 Brighton Road and a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 10 and 11 Purley Parade, High Street, Purley.

c) The payment parking bay on the north-west side of High Street, Purley, opposite Nos. 8 to 11 Purley Parade, will be suspended.

3. During the closure, the diversion route for vehicular traffic will be via High Street, Purley and Whytecliffe Road South, or via High Street, Purley, A22, and Brighton Road. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be diverted via High Street, Purley and Brighton Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 06 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within three days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 20 October 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:

a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 94 Bensham Grove, Thornton Heath, No. 10 Buller Road, Thornton Heath, No. 67 Hyde Road, Thornton Heath, No. 4 Netley Close, New Addington, and No. 13 Wharfdale Gardens, Thornton Heath.
