Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 29 October 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”, the effect of which will be to:- 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of A287 South Street, B3001 South Street, A287 Union Road and D5335 Victoria Road, Farnham. 2. Suspend “The Surrey County Council Firgrove Hill (A287) Farnham (Revocation and Re-Imposition of Weight Restriction) Order 2000” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out construction and installation of highway improvements, including:- drainage remediation works, traffic island upgrade, a zebra crossing, road markings, signing and lining and/or carriageway resurfacing work of A287 South Street and B3001 South Street and A287 Union Road and/or maintenance works following completion of the construction works. It is anticipated that the temporary closures will be required to be operational between the hours of 10pm and 6am for 1 month of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 November 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services in an emergency situation in A287 South Street, B3001 South Street, A287 Union Road and D5335 Victoria Road, Farnham will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives/by means of road plates. Access for affected residents and businesses will be maintained outside of working hours; during working hours residential and business access will be maintained only under direction of site operatives at such time safe to do so. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic:- Southbound on South Street (from Royal Deer junction) – travel north onto B3228 Bear Lane, continue onto B3228 Woolmead, turn left onto B3228 East Street, turn right onto B3228 Guildford Road, take third exit at the “Shepherd and Flock Roundabout” to join A31 Farnham By-Pass, take exit onto B3001 Station Hill, continue onto C28 Tilford Road, turn right onto Great Austins, continue onto C122 Old Farnham Lane, turn right onto A287 Firgrove Hill, continue onto A287 Bridge Square, A287 Long Bridge and continue journey.
Northbound on South Street (from A31) – travel eastbound on A31 Farnham By-Pass, take the first exit at the “Shepherd and Flock Roundabout” onto B3228 Guildford Road, turn left onto B3328 East Street, turn left onto B3228 Dogflud Way, turn left onto B3228 East Street and continue to the northern end of the closure at Royal Deer junction.
D5302 High Street, Rowledge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D5302 High Street, Rowledge. This Traffic Order is required to enable Durkin and Sons Limited to carry out renewal of electrical cables, transfer all services and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out in sections under a rolling closure, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm in 2 phases within 3 months of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 November 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The 2 phases of works are anticipated to operate from:- 1. 21 November 2025 to 15 December 2025 2. 05 January 2026 to 13 February 2026. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of a temporary walkway. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Fullers Road, Chapel Road and Marley Bridge Road.
D5528 The Mount, Grayswood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D5528 The Mount, Grayswood that extends across its junction with the access road for the Scout Hut and Pumping Station, and for a distance of 20m either side. This Traffic Order is required to enable Thames Water/M Group to carry out under pressure tapping and/or water mains maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 November 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via the eastern side of the temporary closure. No sole access to any property will be affected. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses and equestrians will be maintained at all times to the point of works via the alternative route:- Clammer Hill Road, Lower Road and The Mount.
T11111 Townpath Petworth Road to Hill Road, Haslemere Public Footpath No.39 (Haslemere)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and/or other traffic proceeding on foot or by any means from entering or proceeding in the entire length of T11111 Townpath Petworth Road to Hill Road, Haslemere, otherwise known as Public Footpath No.39 (Haslemere), which extends from its junction with Petworth Road to its junction with Hill Road. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate capital safety defect works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 6 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. No sole means of access to any premises will be affected. Alternative Route – D2256 Hill Road, D5526 Museum Hill and B2131 Petworth Road.
