Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN SHENLEY)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–
1. that length of Rectory Lane, Shenley from its junction with B5378 London Road north eastwards to its junction with Harris Lane, a distance of approximately 515m.
An alternative route will be via B5378 London Road and Harris Lane.
2. that length of Harris Lane, Shenley from its junction with Newcome Road north eastwards to its junction with Rectory Lane, a distance of approximately 396m.
An alternative route will be via Harris Lane, B5378 London Road and Rectory Lane.
3. that length of Mimms Lane, Shenley from its junction with Harris Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via Harris Lane, B5378 London Road, London Road, Well End Road, Buckettsland Lane, Summerswood Lane, Crossaks Lane, Blanche Lane, Earls Lane and Mimms Lane.
The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only have effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WAGON ROAD, BARNET)
ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Wagon Road, Barnet from its junction with Dancers Hill Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 290m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Dancers Hill Road, A1000 Barnet Road, A111 (Southgate Road/Stagg Hill) and Wagon Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
