Bury - Temporary Road Closures due to Electricity and Highway Works

What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(BOND STREET, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bond Street, Bury – between Queen Street & Rochdale Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate electricity connection works

The alternative routes will be via Wash Lane, Derby Way, Rochdale Road and vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 28/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(BRIDGE STREET, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along: -

Bridge Street, Bury – between Cobden Street & Porritt Street

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate Electricity Northwest works

The alternate route will be via Bell Lane, Brook Street, Taylor Street, Geoffrey Street & vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 10/11/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 4 weeks.

(PRESTWICH PARK ROAD SOUTH, PRESTWICH)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along: -

Prestwich Park Road South, Prestwich – at junction with Bury New Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate Electricity Northwest works

The alternate route will be via Bury New Road, St Anns Road & vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 11/11/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 2 weeks.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(WELLINGTON ROAD, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along: -

Wellington Road, Bury – between Manchester Road to a point east 100m from Manchester Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate highway improvement works and delivery of the Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme

The alternate route will be via Manchester Road, Angouleme Way, Market Street, Parkhills Road & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 27/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 6 weeks.
