Cambridgeshire - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Middle Street, Thriplow Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1696

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Middle Street, Thriplow as lies between No.28 & Manor House. The alternative route for vehicles is via Middle St; School Ln; Church St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate manhole cover repairs & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 3/11 & 5/11/25.

Gravel Pit Hill, Thriplow Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1883

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Gravel Pit Hill, Thriplow as lies between Church Street & KWS. The alternative route for vehicles is via Middle St; Fowlmere Rd; Thriplow Rd, Fowlmere; B1368; Chrishall Rd C261; A505; Gravel Pit Rd, Thriplow & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 10/11 & 12/11/25.

Hay Street, Steeple Morden Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1913

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hay Street, Steeple Morden as lies between Nos.61 & 79. The alternative route for vehicles is via Hay St; Trap Rd; Trap Rd, Guilden Morden; Fox Hill Rd; Dubbs Knoll Rd; Pound Grn; High St; Ashwell Rd; Ashwell Rd Steeple Morden; Ashwell Rd, Steeple Morden; Station Rd; Church St & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 5/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 4/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:00hrs & 17:00hrs 5/11 to 6/11/25.

Rectory Lane, Fowlmere Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-2060

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Rectory Lane, Fowlmere as lies between The Rectory & Rosemary Cottages. The alternative route for vehicles is via Rectory Ln; Long Ln; B1368 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 3/11 & 6/11/25.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
