Westmorland and Furness, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5057 LONGSLEDDALE, ST ANNE’S CLOSE, AMBLESIDE AND C5060 NEAR BOWLAND BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road;
(i) C5057 Longsleddale, from a point adjacent to a property known as The Winnows,
extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 85m.
There is no suitable diversion available for vehicles.
Duration: From 10th November 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/16132)
(ii) St Anne’s Close, Ambleside, from its junction with Hilltop Road,
extending in an
easterly direction for a distance of approx. 30m.
There is no suitable diversion available for vehicles.
Duration: From 24th November 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/16119)
(iii) C5060 near Bowland Bridge, from its junction with the C5047,
extending in a north
westerly direction for a distance of approx. 125m.
Alternative Route: via the C5047, U5247, C5029, C5048 and the unrestricted section of the C5060.

The Order will come into operation on 10th November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
