Junction 8, Temporary Road Closures Due To Drainage Upgrading Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) AND (7) THE M50 MOTORWAY (M50 JUNCTION 4 TO M5 JUNCTION 8) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the M50 Motorway, in the Counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, to allow drainage upgrading works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close, in phases - (1) lengths of the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the M50 between the roundabout junction with the A449 and the B4221, near Brampton Abbotts, and the roundabout junction with the M5 Junction 8 slip roads, near Upper Strensham; (2) any slip road or link road leading to or from the lengths of the M50 described in (1) above.
The closures will be carried out overnight only between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and are expected to start on Monday 17 November 2025 and continue for approximately six months. The Order will come into force on 10 November 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or traffic officer purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via the A449, the A417 and the A40 will be signed.
