What is happening?
KIRKLEES COUNCIL
(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ON-STREET PARKING
PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-
BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT
NO. 08) ORDER 2025
BATTYE STREET, NORTHGATE, SOUTH STREET, ALDAMS ROAD, DEWSBURY
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Dewsbury area of the Kirklees district, will be to:
(i) Prohibit the waiting of vehicles at any time on lengths of the following roads:1. Northgate, Dewsbury
2. South Street, Dewsbury
(ii) Prohibit the waiting of vehicles between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00 (Monday to Saturday) on a length of Battye Street, Dewsbury
(iii) Prohibit the waiting or loading and unloading of vehicles at any time on a length of Battye Street, Dewsbury
(iv) Create free parking spaces for a maximum stay of 1 hour with no return within 1 hour on lengths of Battye Street Dewsbury (The restriction will apply from 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Saturday)
(v) To create a loading bay, which will operate at all times on a length of Aldams Road, Dewsbury
(vi) To create a loading bay, which will operate between the hours of 06:00 – 18:00 on a length of South Street, Dewsbury
(vii) To create a loading bay, which will operate between the hours of 06:00 – 15:00 on a length of South Street, Dewsbury
(viii) Modify the existing No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on a length of Old Westgate, Dewsbury (viii) To revoke certain items in the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing
On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’
Format) Order 2024 related to Battye Street and South Street, which will be redundant when certain parts of the restrictions referred to above are introduced
