What is happening?
PETERBOROUGH COUNCIL
SCHOOL STREET PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE ORDER
AMENDMENT 2 – 2025
Notice is hereby given that The Council of the City of Peterborough proposes to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, ‘the Act of 1984’, following consultation with the Chief Officer of the Police and all other enabling powers.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
Renumber paragraphs 4,5 & 6 to 5,6 & 7 respectively
Insert a new Clause 4 as follows: No motorised vehicle shall enter the Pedestrian and Cycle Zones during their times of operation whether ridden, driven, wheeled, pushed or propelled in any other way save for
the exemptions specified in paragraph 5 of this order Schedule 1
• In the Affected Lengths remove “closed” from entries A, B & J For St Johns Primary (Stanground) (Entry I)
• Amend the times of operation to 8.30-9.30am and 2.45-3.45pm
• Amend the affected lengths to Chapel Street between its junction with Church Street and Appleyard
Add Ref L – Oakdale Primary School and Stars Day Nursey as below Oakdale Primary
