NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 11 CONSETT PARISH) PUBLIC PATH AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above order, made on 17th October 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will Divert Public Footpath No. 11 Consett Parish running from a point at the junction with Public Footpath No.10 west of The Coach House, proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction past The Coach House to a point north of the buildings to a line running from a more northerly point on Footpath No.11 in a generally north-north-easterly then east-north-easterly direction to the same point north of the buildings, as shown on the order map. The above order will also modify the Definitive Map and Statement of the Public Rights of Way for County Durham by deleting and adding the footpath described.

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the at Consett library during normal opening hours & via the Council website during normal opening hours and via the Council website.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing addressed to Emma Sandford-Story, Legal Assistant, County Hall, Durham DH1 5UL or by email to Highways. Orders@durham.gov.uk (ref: 12756668) not later than 20th November 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the County Council of Durham may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
